I wonder if anyone can help me. I am appealing for any information any of your members may have regarding my brother. I can identify him as a member of one of your photographs.
The person in the middle row far left is Philip Alan Hales, Leading Radio Operator (R.O.), D109074A.
Unfortunately Philip died on the 3rd of April 1977 in Haslar hospital from a very rare cancer called sarcoma of the spine, a cancer normally caused by exposure to radiation. Although I was serving in the Army at the time of his death he talked of an accident/incident whilst on board HMS Forth. Can anyone throw any light on this. I would be very grateful for any input.
He went on to serve aboard HMS Endurance and was assigned to HMS Nelson at the time of his death.
