Minesweeper HMS Mercury

Reading my copy of this month's Current Archaeology, the following article was of interest;
'Minesweeper discovered in the Irish Sea'
A shipwreck in the middle of the southern Irish sea has recently been identified as that of the HMS Mercury, a Clyde based ferry that was requisitioned by the Admiralty in 1939 to serve as a minesweeper. It sank off the coast of Ireland in 1940 after a mine was snagged in it's sweep gear and then exploded under the stern. The discovery was made by maritime archaeologists a Bournemouth and Bangor Universities.
